NV=Near Vision

DV=Distance Vision                                                                                        

Sph (Sphere) = this is the amount of power required to correct your vision. 

·         Negative means your  lenses are used to correct your distance vision

·         Positive means your lenses are used to correct your near vision

Cyl(cylinder)  = This shows the amount of correction needed to remove any visual distortion. The Visual distortion is usually caused by an irregularly shaped cornea.

Axis = this is a unit between 0 degrees to 180 degrees; this is built in your lenses to correct to astigmatism (irregularly shaped cornea).

Prism = this correction is made to balance your eye muscles for comfort.

Base = the direction of the prism built in your lenses.
